Fertility

Patients with MS have a slightly higher risk of being diagnosed with infertility, but are less likely to receive infertility treatment compared to patients without MS.

If after 3-6 months, you are not able to conceive, you should be referred to a fertility specialist.

The latest studies on fertility treatments have not shown them to increase the risk of relapse.

MS medications can be dosed around in vitro fertilization procedures.

Contraception

Any form of contraception is safe to use with MS. Prioritize the most effective form of contraception. If you plan to stop your MS treatment preconception, you can consider switching from a hormonal contraceptive to a barrier contraceptive to minimize time off your MS medication.
